Fundraising

Fundraising is a necessary and important part of the PA's work. By raising funds for our school, we can help to ensure that it can provide much needed supplies and resources to aid in our children's education. It is a great way to get to know other parents and really feeling connected to the development of the school. Your children also get to more closely experience all the behind-the-scenes work that takes place, thereby increasing their feeling of pride and a sense of belonging to the school. It is inspiring to see so many parents with such busy family lives making time to help fundraise for their school. Well done all! Any and all levels of involvement are welcomed, so if you have any fundraising suggestions or would like to organise an event with the support of the PA, please email us at info@greystonesetpa.org Below are two lists of fundraising events: some that have already taken place with great results and some that are in the planning stages. Many parents/pre-enrol parents have already taken the initiative and organised successful events prior to the formation of the Parents' Association. The Fundrising Success Story So Far Tesco Bagpack, 29^th September-1^st October 2011 Thanks to our volunteers we raised €1,365 for our school! Great job. Teddy Bear's Picnic, 7^th August 2011 It was a great day. Nice, mostly sunny afternoon while it was raining elsewhere. Thanks to volunteers and sponsors we managed to raise over €2,000 to go towards the development of our childrens' school! List of our sponsors. Race Night, 11^th March 2011 It was a great success! We raised €2,589.10 for the school (which has been used to help with the school play, transport and will reduce the cost of your children's swimming lessons). Tesco Bagpack, 30^th September-2^nd October 2010 Another fabulous fundraising event. Teddy Bear's Picnic, 20^th June 2010 Another success for the PA at Greystones Educate Together! With a lot of work from volunteers, generous contributions from our sponsors, and dedication from all at the school, we managed to raise over €4,000 to go towards the development of our childrens' school! List of our sponsors. Pyjama Day, 5^th February 2010 The Pj Day and Bake Sale raised €705 for UNICEF (Fundraiser for victims of Haiti Earthquake). Thanks for donations of cakes and PJ money and for supporting the bake sale. Thank you to all volunteers for your help! Book Fair, 13^th December 2009 Our efforts to pull the book fair together to raise funds for our new school library paid off! The PA was happy to raise over €850 on the day,and a further €150 worth in new childrens books for the library. Thanks to the generous book donations from the public and the kind and willing parent volunteers in our school, we were able to make this a great success. List of our sponsors. Tesco Halloween Bagpack, October 2009 Over €2,000 was raised in total, €1,919 for the school library and €288 for the PA. Thanks to Tesco Greystones for their support and a big thank you to all the parents, enrolled and pre-enrolled, who helped pack bags over the holiday weekend. Teddy Bear's Picnic 2009 Sunday 19th July, 2pm to 5pm. Despite the not-so-summery weather, a great day was had by everyone involved! Thanks to the hard work of all the organisers, volunteers, sponsors and, of course, everyone who attended, we raised another substantial amount for the school €3,190. Plus we raised an additional €270 for the Parents' Association, which will help towards organising future events. List of our sponsors. Tesco Bagpack 2009 Three days were spent smiling and packing bags for the wonderfully supportive customers of Tesco Greystones. We raised the outstanding amount of €2,400 thanks to the generous support from our community. The schools profile was also raised at this event as a lot of people did not realise there was a new school in Greystones. Imagine their surprise when we told them there was a new Gaelscoil too! Thanks to Tesco Greystones for their support and thank you to all the parents, enrolled and pre-enrolled who helped pack bags over the holiday weekend. Second Hand Market 2009 What a great day had by all, people came from far and wide to swoop up some great deals on the quality goods that were donated to the market. Thanks to everyone who took the time to gather and donate the goods, a whopping €1,800 was raised at this event. Recycle and re-use occurred as a by-product and acts as another step toward reaching our Green School status. Supervalu Bagpack 2009 Organised by a pre-enrol parent (now that's dedication!), this Bagpack raised over €700 in 3 short hours! Thanks to all the volunteers and Supervalu Greystones for their help. Easter Egg Hunt 2008 All eggs were found and quickly devoured on site! A fun fundraiser! Teddy Bear's Picnic 2008 What a great day, fun was had by everyone, Teddys got fixed at the Teddy Bear's Hospital, the children bounced all day on the castles and a flurry of faces got painted to name but a few of the events on the day! Volunteers worked very hard and raised over €8,000 on the day. Amazing!		The Future Events Seasonal Cards This event will be facilitated by the school during school hours. Your child will get the Art Template with an area where the child can draw his/her picture. Then you receive a free sample card (with your child's individual design on the front and your child's name and school on the back). Cards will be available in packs of 10 (A6 size). €10 per pack (€5 for cards and €5 to support our school). You can order as many packs as you require. (There is no obligation to order).
